You guys know that I LOVE skincare. So over the last months I tested new moisturizers from La Mer, Clinique and GlamGlow. Read more to find out what I think about them and if they are that promising as they sound.
The Moisturizing Soft Cream from La Mer
You guys!! This was the first product I’ve ever tried from La Mer. The Cream is described as an ‚ultra-soft moisturizing cream that nourishes skin for an instant luminous finish’. It has an ultimate smooth and lightweight texture and is handled as the ‚soft variation’ of the famous ‚Crème de la Mer’. The Moisturizing Soft Cream contains the brand’s signature ‚Miracle Broth™’ which, according to their description, is an elixir ‚formulated with hand-harvested sea kelp and other nutrients and minerals unlocked via a natural fermentation process’. Miracle Broth™ ‚supports the five facets of natural healing: moisture, regeneration, soothing, smoothing, and radiance – which help to bring skin back to its healthiest state’. So, you guessed it, I really couldn’t wait to try this baby out!!
First of all, serious packaging goals. It feels super heavy and sturdy and is just extremely beautiful to look at. And I was pleased by the inside as well. The scent of the product is very traditional creamy like and old school to me, if you will but in a really good way. Even it’s a cream it goes on very light and also feels this way on the skin. I liked it a lot. I’ve tested it under my foundation as well and it did really good (means I couldn’t tell any difference when applying my foundation and during the day, wearing it). What is really nice because there’s nothing worse than a really nice moisturizer but it doesn’t perform well under makeup.
Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator from Clinique
This moisturizer really keeps what it promises!! Described as a ‚refreshing gel-cream that provides an instant moisture boost’ and claims to ‚deliver almost twice as much hydration at the end of the day than it did before’. It’s formulated with activated aloe water and hyaluronic acid. Beside that the moisturizer is free of fragrance and oil. YAY for that!!
Okay, so a bit of mixed reviews for this one (I know, everyone is LOVING it). I really like that it’s fragrance and oil free. Also I loved the texture but the thing is I never was a gel-cream-girl and this one, as I said above, really does what it claims. I guess as my skin is really oily at the moment (hello summer) it’s maybe just a bit too much for now. I will try it again during fall when the weather get’s colder and my skin needs more moisture. That being said, if your skin isn’t as oily as mine, or even dry, I’m sure you’d love it!!
Waterburst Hydrated Glow Moisturizer from GlamGlow
The moisturizer is described as a ‚weightless water cream for instant and 72 hour continuous hydration‘. Beside a triple Hyaluronic Acid complex that spends long-lasting hydration, it also contains water from the volcanic Jeju Island (located in the South Sea of Korea) and Blue Nymph Lily Extract, a rare flower, that claims to give that healthy glow.
Okay guys, let me tell you: this moisturizer smells just like candy!! When I opened it for the first time it instantly reminded me of childhood. I personally like it (although some sweet smells really bother me, I enjoy this one) but I know some people are very picky when it comes to skincare products that have a very strong scent.
When you apply the Waterburst moisturizer it honestly feels like if you’d apply water to your skin – sounds crazy I know, but it really feels like that. Very light and very refreshing!! Will wear this one all summer long, for sure.
Have you tried any of the moisturizers above? What do you think? And in general, what’s your holy grail moisturizer? I’d really love to know!!
much love, Nika
