As you probably know I’m a big fan of smoothie bowls and that includes acai bowls of course. I recently was in Miami and let me tell you acai bowls there are AMAZING!! But mostly I’m making smoothie bowls my own in the morning for breakfast.
Açai pulp from Vero Amore
Recently I had the opportunity to test organic frozen acai pulp from Vero Amore. It’s basically just the acai berries, blended and frozen and nothing else!! Acai is not only a superfood, it’s one of the most powerful antioxidants in the world. Some more healthy benefits of these yummy berries:
– full of anthocyanins and flavonoids
– loaded with dietary fiber (good for your heart & cholesterol levels)
– high in minerals (calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, potassium)
– and vitamins (A, B1, B2, B3, C & E)
– omega 3, 6 and 9
– phytosterols and 16 amino acids
The berries are native to the Amazon region in South America. Acai from Vero Amore contains no chemical additives, preservatives or added sugar – it’s gluten free and vegan!!
The lovely people of Vero Amore gifted me two packs (that’s eight packs to 100 grams each) and they were gone so quickly because I got addicted, of course!! It’s so easy to make acai bowls at home and the taste is pretty amazing.
– 100 grams of frozen acai pulp
– 1 and a half bananas
– tiny bit of cashew milk to blend
– 3 tablespoons of almond yoghurt (optional)
I simply blend the acai pulp, bananas and cashew milk in my Vitamix till it’s creamy (mostly I let it sit a little bit before blending so it’s easier and not so cold when you eat it). Then I mix in the almond yoghurt and add topping of my choice. My favs are fresh fruits, granola, cacao nibs, nuts, coconut flakes, chia seeds to mention a few.
Honestly, if I could have acai bowl for breakfast every morning, I’d go for it!! What about you guys?
What’s your favorite for breakfast and have you ever tried acai bowls? If so, pls make sure to let me know in the comments (especially about your fav acai bowl places or recipes).
